On the 15th of September at 13:00h CIT Puerto de la Cruz presented the official poster of the 8th Edition of the International Agatha Christie Festival as part of the celebrations of Agatha Christie’s birthday.
Manuel Siverio and Ulrike Schmidt were present on behalf of the Centro de Iniciativas Turísticas and Carolina Rodríguez was present on behalf of the Puerto de la Cruz Town Hall.
Mr. Manuel Siverio spoke about the festival and its activities:
“We have prepared a programme full of activities based on the lady of crime, including literature, music, history, photography, painting, mystery, routes, gastronomy and many more enigmas that will have to be deciphered… all of them designed for the general public with special emphasis on the young public, so important in our society”…
We have established a multitude of contacts and arrangements with relevant people linked in some way to the writer’s work or her genre. On an international level, we have consultants of the stature of Doctor John Curran, the writer’s official documentary maker, and Andrew Wilson, biographer and expert on Agatha Christie, the latter being a renowned English writer who set one of his last works in Puerto de la Cruz. “A Different Kind of Evil”. Both great experts on the life and work of Agatha Christie”…
“On a national level, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Francisco de Paula Fernández González, better known as Blue Jeans, to present his latest work in Tenerife. “El Campamento”. Another writer already confirmed for this edition is Yanet Acosta, author of numerous academic publications. President of the Asociación de la Prensa Gastronómica y Nutricional, with whom we have prepared a very special activity within the Festival”…
Dr Mark Aldridge will also be joining us this year to talk about Poirot and Agatha Christie, he is a lecturer at the Solent University, Southampton.

Among them, we highlight the guided tours both in English and Spanish, conferences, cinema in original version and musical performances, also the invitation to the international fan clubs of the most read writer of all times, making them participants of this unique festival at national level that we have the honour to carry out in Puerto de la Cruz. “…
“There is only a month and a half left until the Festival starts, and we want to guarantee the safety of all the participants, in this edition the outdoor spaces will take precedence where we will plan mysterious events to which we invite you to participate, offering a cultural festival for all ages and nationalities”.
